We are developing a new energy transmission system by converting solar insolation to laser light and illuminating silicon photovoltaic cells. We designed the optimal structures for efficient light trapping depending on the light-incident angles, which are determined by the objects (stationary or moving) and means (beams or optical fibers). We demonstrated of a high quantum efficiency of 0.92 for normal incidence. The simulated conversion efficiency was as high as around 50%.
