The rock-salt structure LaO has been known as an insulating block layer contained in a layered structure, typified by a high-temperature superconductor such as (La,Sr)2CuO4. However, we previously reported that LaO epitaxial thin films on YAlO3(110) substrate showed superconductivity with the transition temperature of about 4.5 K at the maximum. In this report, we report the increase of the transition temperature by controlling the lattice strain of LaO thin films.
