In nitride semiconductor devices, crystalline defects in the wide sense, such as heterointerface and nanostructures often play crucial roles for generating functions of devices. Hence, understanding and controlling of the defect structures embedded in perfect crystals, known as the singularity structures, is quite important, In this symposium, we will discuss control and characterization of the defects in nitride semiconductors and we will also discuss exploration of new functions of the singularity structures.
