In this paper, the effect of 3D microstructure with two different heights on the hydrophobicity and antibacterial antifouling properties of PDMS pattern formed by soft lithography process were investigated. By using PDMS 3D square pillars with the size of 20 micron arranged in hexagonal array with two different heights (h1: 46.8 micron, h2: 82.8 micron, h2/h1: 1.77), the superhydrophobic properties with water contact angle of 150.3±4.2° and water contact angle hysteresis of 1.2° were obtained. Moreover, the attachment of E. coli on PDMS sample with 3D square pillars arranged in hexagonal array is significantly reduced compared to the PDMS sample with conventional 2D microstructure. This is attributed to the increasing of surface roughness and suppressing of pattern collapse on PDMS sample with 3D microstructure, which leads to excellent antibacterial antifouling properties.
