[18a-E204-6] Investigation of electron beam modulation using laser light

Keywords:Kapitza-Dirac effect, Stimulated Compton scattering, Ponderomotive scattering

It is well known that the interaction cross-section of light and free-electron scattering is very small in generally. However, the cross-section for certain orders of diffraction scattering can be enhanced by quantum interference effects via the stimulated scattering process. Indeed, there have been some reports that electron beams were phase modulated using laser standing waves. In this talk, investigation of the possibility of the electron optical elements using laser light will be shown as results of propagation simulation of electron wave function by a simple calculation code.
