Silver nanoslits were formed by dynamic oblique deposition of silver on flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate with a periodic structure. The width of the nanoslit was controlled by adjusting the Ag film thickness. The sample having a periodic silver nanoslit structure showed enhanced transmittance at a wavelength region of 600 nm or more, compared to a silver thin film having the same film thickness. Besides, by stretching the manufactured flexible substrate up to 50%, the transmittance decreases for samples with film thicknesses of 110 nm, and 140 nm, but reverse increase in transmittance was observed for and the film thicknesses of 190 nm, 290 nm, and 360 nm. The nanoslits structure also showed a remarkable surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) enhancement, and we were able to detect Cortisol using the nanoslit SERS sensor with intensity even better than the commercially available SERS chip Wavelet from Nidek, Japan.
