Keywords:sum frequency generation spectroscopy

In order to clarify the effect of plasma irradiation on cells, the change in the molecular structure of a glucose film surface was analyzed using sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy. SFG spectroscopy is an effective method to observe changes in the molecular structure of the cell surface due to high sensitivity at the interface. The glucose film, which is a component of cell membrane, was used as a sample. hydroxymethyl group at the 6th C atom of carbon ring was changed into carboxylic group treated by the He plasma jet.
