We study the ultrasonic velocity change method (UVC method) that visualizes the fat area in the living body by utilizing the characteristic that the temperature dependence of the velocity differs depending on the medium when ultrasonic waves propagate in the medium.
The UVC method has possibilities for the detection of the temperature distribution and its time change caused by percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of deep tissue. In this study, we report the basic experiments aimed at monitoring RFA with UVC method.
