In colloidal quantum dot (CQD) assemblies, the transport properties depend not only on the size of CQDs and the morphology of the assemblies but also on the choices of ligands that electronically couple the neighboring CQDs. Here, we show the selection and design of new crosslinking ligands chains of conjugated molecules to crosslink PbS QDs. By using these new ligands, we demonstrate high conductivity, despite the long inter-QD distance. The uses of these ligands are prospective for developing high performance photovoltaic and thermoelectric devices, where preservation of strong quantum confinement effect is beneficial.
