In this work, we report the evaluation of bioinertness of zwitterionic peptide-based self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) by protein adsorption and cell adhesion tests. Moreover, we analyze the interaction by interfacial molecules and ions between the zwitterionic peptide-SAMs by surface force measurements. From these results, we discuss the mechanisms underlying bioinertness of the zwitterionic peptide-SAMs.
