Hydride ions are suitable for fast ion conduction in solids due to their monovalence, adequate anion radius similar to O2–, and large polarizability. Furthermore, the strong reducing properties with a standard redox potential of H/H2 (-2.25 V) might be applied in electrochemical energy storage/conversion devices. In this presentation, we will report the effect of controlling anion configuration on the conduction properties, regarding K2NiF4-type H conductive oxyhydrides we have found so far.
