▲ [20p-E208-7] Synthesis of pencil-like silver nanowires through water-mediated polyol process and its applications in nonlinear plasmonics
キーワード:Silver nanowires, polyol synthesis, nonlinear plasmonics
Silver nanowires (AgNWs) serve as sub-diffraction limited plasmonic waveguide that is a promising future for many applications, such as nonlinear plasmonics, tip-enhanced Raman. Polyol synthesis of AgNWs has been widely studied in order to control the diameter and length of AgNWs. However, less attention has been paid to control of the end morphology, although it plays a crucial role in the aforementioned applications. In this contribution, we intensively investigated effect of water content in the polyol synthesis and successfully optimized synthetic condition to produce very sharp-end morphology in high yield just by adding small amount of water in ethylene glycol. Using the sharp-end AgNWs, we performed second harmonic generation (SHG) excited at the distal end through propagating plasmons, called remote excitation of SHG. Sharp-end AgNWs show high reproducibility and high nonlinear response thanks to the end morphology. Since SHG is confined at nanoscale region, it could be a promising point light source for super resolution microscopy.
