[10a-S321-7] Radar Reflective Moisture Sensor with Reduced Backside Influence

Keywords:radar, chipless sensor, infrastructure

The durable life time of infrastructure and buildings has exceeded 30 years, so sensors using conventional electronic devices cannot satisfy these durability years. In order to improve it, a sensor that does not use electronic devices is desirable, and a chipless sensor applying the principle of radar has attracted attention. In this article, we suggest that a ground placed on the resonant element would create a sensor that is not affected by the back surface.
A change in peak value is confirmed when a moisture is dropped onto the metal pattern.
