Keywords:silver tellurite glasses, third-order nonlinear optical properties, Synchrotron radiation experiments

In this study, 20Ag2O-80TeO2 glasses with high third-order nonlinear optical properties were estimated by several experimental techniques. The third-order nonlinear susceptibilities Re_c(3) were enhanced with decreaseing optical bandgap (Eg) and so thier glass structures were investigated by extended X-ray absorption fine strucrture (EXAFS) and anormalous X-ray scattering (AXS) experiments. The key factor is found to be the oxidation state of Ag ions and Te-O distance to understand the enhancement of Re_c(3).
