Perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have significant potential for light-emitting devices (LED) because of their high color purity and color tunability in the visible spectrum. Here, we focus on the surface ligand engineering and chemical composition engineering of perovskite QDs. We have fabricated anion-exchange red perovskite (CsPb(Br/I)3) QDs from pristine CsPbBr3 using halide-anion-containing alkyl ammonium and aryl ammonium salts to produce highly efficient perovskite QD-based LEDs. The anion-exchange CsPb(Br/I)3 QD LED showed a significantly high external quantum efficiency of over 21% and high color purity, with Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage coordinates of (0.72, 0.28).
