[10p-PA8-15] Correlation between interface structure and contact resistance in Nickel-Graphene junction

Shou In1, Seiya Kasai1 (1.RCIQE,Hokkaido Univ.)

Keywords:graphene-metal junction, contact resistance, TEM observation

For graphene electron devices, Ni/graphene junction is often used for Ohmic contact since this system achieves low contact resistance. However it has not been fully understood the low contact resistance mechanism and optimal interface formation process. The previous theoretical study indicated that the low contact resistance was attributed to the small Ni(111)-graphene gap distance. Thus, in this study, we investigate the interfacial structure of Ni/graphene at atomic level using TEM observation and discuss the correlation between the interface structure and electric contact resistance in the Ni/graphene system.
