We have investigated a novel nanocarbon fabrication method, named Hot Mesh Deposition (HMD), to synthesize graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) on a quartz substrate. To synthesize GNRs from pentacene (Pn) and dihydropentacene (DHP), molecular orientations of Pn and DHP have to be controlled to suppress steric. In this study, the molecular orientations was measured by X-ray absorption spectroscopy using high brightness soft X-ray in synchrotron facility, NewSUBARU. The peak height ratio (p*/s*) was largest at an incident angle of 10°. It was found that molecular orientation in nanocarbon film (Pn, DHP, Pentacene multimer) prepared by HMD was changed by variation of deposition precursors.
