We developed a highly sensitive detection technology for nucleoprotein of influenza virus, which is applicable to the detection of a trace amount of influenza virus in the air. In order to enhance sensitivity, we examined the detection method using an antigen-antibody reaction by a new small antibody (VHH antibody), and surface plasmon resonance to enhance a fluorescent dye immobilized to VHH antibody. As a result, it was demonstrated that the nucleoprotein can be detected with a concentration of 1 pM by using VHH antibody, plasmonic substrate fabricated by sputtering deposition and mixed self-assembled monolayer having ethylene glycol.
