△ [11p-M111-8] Development of Proton Conductive Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Filled with Cellulose Nanocrystals
Keywords:Polymer electrolyte fuel cell, Cellulose, Proton conductive polymer
We have designed and successfully fabricated a novel polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) for PEFC using affordable materials and precise nanostructures. We have focused on general inorganic filler filling method, which has advantage on improvement of heat resistance, mechanical stability, and simple fabrication process of the membrane by using silica nanoparticles. In this research, we focused on cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), which has stronger membrane strength than our previous inorganic silica core particles. In this paper, we employed polymer coated CNC with polyvinylphosphonic acid (PVPA) as a proton conductive layer and polystyrene (PS) as a blocking layer.
