液体が本来とるべき体積に比べて膨らんだとき，その圧力は負圧となる．負圧状態の液体は，熱力学的準安定なため発生困難であるが，比較的容易に発生できるものとして金属容器を用いたBerthelot法がある．現在，この方法により約1500mm³までの各種液体に対して-10MPa程度の負圧を発生させることが可能となっている．本研究では，液体の負圧に洗浄作用があると考え，その効果を実験的に検証することを目的とする．
