[12a-W631-9] Relationship between exciton dynamics and second order nonlinear effect in GaAs/AlAs multiple quantum well

Osamu Kojima1, Takashi Kita1, Richard Hogg2 (1.Kobe Univ., 2.Univ. Glasgow)

Keywords:quantum well, exciton, nonlinear effect

In this presentation, we discuss the second-order nonlinear effects based on the exciton transient signal. We have reported the terahertz wave generation due to difference frequency mixing excited by the continuous wave lasers and second harmonic generation excited by a pulse laser. These two experiments show different results in the excitation energy dependence. This difference is discussed from an aspect of the transient response.
