[9a-PA2-9] Dissolved oxygen sensor using a mesoporous platinum microelectrode
Keywords:dissolved oxygen sensor, microelectrode, mesoporous structure
we report what we believe to be the first example of an electrochemical approach to the determination of the concentration of oxygen dissolved in an electrolyte that is based on adsorptive stripping voltammetry using a mesoporous platinum microelectrode endowed with high surface area, i.e., the mesostructures enhance the oxygen adsorption, which results in a large sensor output. The mesoporous platinum structures were fabricated from the skeleton of nanoporous gold (NPG) and platinum thin film deposition. NPG was fabricated by way of anodization under a facile potentiostatic condition and thin platinum film was deposited onto the surface of the fabricated NPG by way of underpotential deposition following surface-limited redox replacement (SLRR). The proposed detection method is suitable for dissolved oxygen in biological micro total analysis systems.
