The laser irradiation to conventional cells, the focusing position was matched with a microscopic image as an index. However, since the cells have an indefinite structure, uniform processing results can not be obtained at the fixed condensing position. In this research, we introduce a confocal optical system into a femtosecond laser processing optical system, thereby making it possible to quantitatively detect the surface position of a sample. We used this system to process cells with indefinite surface shape.
