Since contamination of pre-bond surface cause degradation of adhesive bonding, effective test for cleanness of pre-bond surface is requested. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a promising candidate, because it can rapidly detect trace elements in air. We have investigated the application of LIBS for inspecting trace substances on CFRP plates.
