In this study, we describe the formation and pore size control of porous SiO2 nanofilms from Silsesquioxane (SQ)-containing polymer nanosheets consisting of poly(N-dodecyl acrylamide) (pDDA) and SQ-containing random copolymer (p(DDA/SQ)). pDDA:p(DDA/SQ) nanosheets were prepared by Langmuir–Blodgett technique and porous SiO2 nanofilms were obtained from pDDA:p(DDA/SQ) nanosheets by photo-oxidation under oxygen atmosphere and room-temperature. The pore size of the porous SiO2 nanofilm was estimated by small angle X-ray scattering measurements. As the result, the pore size of the porous SiO2 nanofilm was successfully controlled with range of 3.7–5.0 nm by tuning pDDA:p(DDA/SQ) molar ratio.
