Keywords:atmospheric-presssure plasma, surface tension

There was almost no research to investigate how the surface tension, which is a physical parameter, changes due to interaction with the plasma. In the present study, we measured the surface tension of the water surface interacting with spatial afterglow of an atmospheric-pressure plasma. Surface tension began to increase at several minutes after plasma irradiation started, and when stopped it decreased with time and returned to the value of surface tension of water almost not plasma irradiated. This may be influenced by a change in molecular orientation due to active species transport from the plasma.
