Keywords:positron diffraction, surface, structure analysis

Positron diffraction, i.e., Total-reflection High-energy Positron Diffraction (TRHEPD) and Low-energy Positron Diffraction (LEPD) are the surface structure analysis methods with the highest surface sensitivity. The world's only apparatuses for both methods using a high brightness positron beam are operating at Institute of Materials Structure Science, KEK. TRHEPD, in particular, is proposed and realized by Japanese scientists and many achievements have already been made [1]. Described in this presentation are the method of creating high-intensity and high-brightness positron beam required for the measurements and recent results made by using it.
