The internal quality factor of a superconducting resonator depends strongly on the strength of the microwave electric field inside the resonator. Since the internal Q value of a superconducting resonator is inversely proportional to the normal conductivity, this suggests the existence of a nonlinear effect in which the normal conductivity changes with the microwave electric field. In this report, we investigate the possibility of traveling wave type amplification of microwaves due to the nonlinear effect of normal conductance in the superconducting transmission line.
