The optical properties of the localized emission center typed phosphors show a strong correlation with the host band structure. In this study, we have prepared single crystals of Eu²⁺: SrAl₂O₄, CaAl₂O₄ phosphors and investigated the behavior of excited carriers during the luminescence in systems where the relationship between the excited state of Eu5d excitation state and the host band structure is different.
