[12p-A307-7] Phonon transport control and thermoelectric application by using peculiar structures

Yoshiaki Nakamura1, Takeshi Fujita2 (1.Osaka Univ., 2.Kochi Univ. Technol.)

Keywords:nanostructure, phonon transport control, Thermoelectric converison

For thermoelectric conversion realization, high Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity, and low thermal conductivity are required. The introduction of nanostructures into materials can reduce thermal conductivity. However, it is still difficult to obtain high Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity simultaneously, namely to get high thermoelectric power factor. In this presentation, we develop the peculiar nanostructures to reduce thermal conductivity ultimately and we establish the methodology of power factor enhancement based on the control of the phonon transport and heat conduction using the peculiar nanostructures.
