[21p-C206-12] Observation of laser joining to polymer materials by 4DCT using Talbot interferometer

Ryosuke Ueda1, Yoshichika Seki1, Masato Hoshino2, Atsushi Momose1 (1.Tohoku Univ., 2.JASRI)

Keywords:X-ray phase imaging, laser processing, polymer material

Polymer materials composed of light elements have low absorption by X-rays. On the other hand, X-ray phase imaging, which images the amount of phase shift, provides high contrast and has been applied to observe not only static states but also time-varying materials. The purpose of this study is to observe laser joining, including melting, welding, and solidification, using 4D (three dimensions + time) CT.
