[22p-P13-17] TEM Observation of Diamond Nanoparticle Thin Films Adsorbed on SAMs

In order to apply diamond to organic devices, diamond thin film was prepared by adsorbing diamond nanoparticles (DNP) on the surface of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) and observed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM). VTMS-SAM was deposited on a substrate using vinyl-terminated VTMS as the material, and oxidized to obtain carboxy-terminated ox-VTMS-SAM. ox-VTMS-SAM was immersed in an aqueous dispersion of DNPs to adsorb DNPs on ox-VTMS-SAM, and samples were prepared. Cross-sectional observation of the sample by TEM revealed a DNP layer with a thickness of about 40 nm.
