▼ [23p-B201-11] Emergence of multiple electron spin waves by in-plane magnetic field in GaAs/AlGaAs two-dimensional electron gas
キーワード:Spin-orbit interaction, Persistent spin helix, Electron spin waves
Spin-orbit interactions make the electron spins in semiconductors form a spatial spin structure as electron spin waves. In the persistent spin helix (PSH) state, in which spin relaxation is suppressed, two types of electron spin waves exist as eigenstates, helical and homogeneous spin modes. By taking advantage of multiplexity and parallelism in the wave nature, these spin modes are attractive for new information carriers. To realize novel functionalities based on electron spin waves, the generation of multiple electron spin waves is an important step in semiconductors. Here, we demonstrated the generation of both helical and homogeneous spin modes in a (001)GaAs/AlGaAs two-dimensional electron gas by applying an in-plane magnetic field near the PSH region. We will further discuss the stability of both spin modes depending on the in-plane field angles. This study paves a way to further control the electron spin wave by external means such as magnetic fields and gate electric fields.
