In order to investigate why Poly(heptazine imide) (PHI), one of the two-dimensional carbon nitride polymers, shows high photocatalytic activity, some basic properties affecting the photocatalytic activity were compared with melon, a typical carbon nitride polymer. As a result, the correlation between the adsorption capacity and the photocatalytic activity capacity was clarified. It was also shown that the high adsorption capacity of PHI was related to its large permittivity. Based on these results, the mechanism of high activity of PHI will be discussed in this presentation.
