We report the metamaterial thermoelectric conversion that generates electricity under a uniform temperature environment. The metamaterial attached to the thermoelectric device absorbs thermal radiation and generates local heat, resulting in driving thermoelectric generation. In this report, we examined the mechanism of the metamaterial thermoelectric conversion under a uniform temperature environment numerically. We concluded that the metamaterial thermoelectric conversion is based on thermal radiation absorption and local heat generation by the metamaterial.
