[25p-P08-3] Monte Carlo simulation study for scirrhous gastric cancer detection using circularly-polarized-light scattering
Keywords:Circularly polarized light, Light scattering, Cancer detection
Scirrhous gastric cancer in which cancer cells invade under the mucous membrane widely is one of intractable cancers. Because diffuse cancer cells in mucous layer are difficult to detect with an endoscope, a macroscopic detection technique that can detect microscopic dysplasia is required. We have reported the circularly polarized light scattering (CPLS) technique to detect cancerous cells. In this paper, we investigate the detection of diffuse cancer cells in healthy tissues (Scirrhous gastric cancer) using the CPLS technique with Monte Carlo simulations.
