[15p-PA01-4] Perpendicular Magnetic Properties of Hcp(001)-Co₈₀Pt₂₀/Cr-O Stacked Films

Hcp(001)-Co₈₀Pt₂₀ perpendicular magnetic films have been used as the recording media of hard disc drive. In contrast, we have investigated the magneto-optical (MO) properties of Co-Pt films for chemical and biological sensing applications. The stacked structure with dielectric (oxide) and magnetic films is effective to improve the performances of the MO type of sensors. In this research, we propose a Cr-O seed layer and demonstrate the MO enhancement by an optical interference.
