In a previous research, the Gr electric field sensor successfully measured the atmospheric electric field. The measurement of atmospheric electric field is one of the most important factors in predicting lightning strikes. By observing the atmospheric electric field, it is possible to predict lightning strikes, which can lead to the protection of human lives and equipment. For more effective prediction of lightning strikes, it is necessary to improve the detection sensitivity of electric field sensors. MoS2 electric field sensor has been developed to realize further improvement of sensitivity, because MoS2 has a larger density of states near the Fermi level than Gr, which is expected to be improved from the viewpoint of the mechanism.
