Dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) is promising for various applications owing to its unique reactivity. But it has rarely reported in applied research due to the difficulties of its synthesis and storage. Recently, we have developed a new technique, which can electrically generate N2O5 using atmospheric pressure plasma from air with high safety and easy handling. In this presentation, we will discuss the plant immune activation effect of N2O5 gas exposure supported from the experimental results of initial Ca2+ response, expression of plant defense related genes, and pathogen inoculation tests.
