Multiphoton photoreduction using femtosecond laser pulses can spatially fabricate metal microstructures in hydrogels. We demonstrated the direct fabrication of gold microstructures in thermoresponsive hydrogels with high-speed scanning of femtosecond laser pulses using a galvanometer scanner. The increase in scanning speed reduced the thermal effects during the fabrication of the structure, resulted in the suppression of volume phase transition and the shrinkage of hydrogels, which enabled the precise fabrication of structures.
