[VI-884] Study on damage reduction products for rail adjustment pad

In the slab track, rail adjustment pads (RAP) are used for rail level alignment. In addition to the wheel load, the rail-creeping force acts on RAP, and damage or slipping out may occur near the expansion joint, etc. As a result of focusing on the temperature characteristics of RAP, it was suggested that the decrease in material strength at high temperature might be one of the cause of damage in some products. Therefore, we developed two types of improved product using polyarylate fiber or cycloolefin polymer resin. For these, the improvement of the flexibility at low temperature, the mechanical strength at high temperature, etc. is confirmed by the characteristic evaluation test.
