In recent years, small and inexpensive measuring instruments such as MEMS accelerometers and advanced wireless communication technology have been developed, and it is expected that a new observation system can be constructed, which was not easily realized in the past. The strong earthquake monitoring system constructed in this study does not need to design and install wiring, because the observation records can be collected by wireless communication. In addition, the miniaturization of the sensor allows it to be attached with magnets and adhesives using an inspection path, and the installation work is simple.
