町丁目単位の将来人口推計として，既往報告のコーホート要因法をベースに純移動率に確率分布手法の適用による推計精度の向上を図る手法の改善を行い，全国・全町丁目を対象に2005年基準で2040年まで推計を行った．
短期（2015年）について，推計結果と国勢調査結果等との比較から町丁目単位での人口推計の積み上げでも十分な精度を有することを確認したうえで，長期間（2040）に関する推計結果と社人研の推計結果を比較し，一定の精度があることを確認した．
