放電加工を主とした加工系研究室において，ロボットアームを用いた卒業研究を希望する学生が続いたため，ロボットアームの先端に小型放電加工ユニットを搭載した横型放電加工機の開発を進めた．専門および非専門分野にまたがる卒業研究の進め方，学生への指導において気づいた内容を発表する．
