実験室レベルで可能な，金が溶融する瞬間を観察することができる新規鋳造実験を開発した。黒鉛を加工した鋳型にゴミから回収し精錬した金3.11 gを入れ，1200 ℃の電気炉に5分間入れると，直径16 mmφの金メダルが得られた。
