In this paper, we review the history of bookshelves and overview how bookshelves have changed with the evolution of technology. Today, the technological environment around e-books continues to change and e-bookshelves, online based bookshelves, are still in the process of development. The visual form and layout of the e-bookshelf is not limited to the reproduction of a physical bookshelf, and there is room for various developments.
The “Virtual Bookshelf” that the author is planning to develop and release as an e-bookshelf with interfaces allow users to browse user’s collection easily to inspire new ideas and shows the relationship between books.
