[W18-02] 最近のカイガラムシ分類研究の現状について

Taxonomic study of the Japanese Coccomorpha (Scale insects) has been very insufficient, and there are still many undescribed and newly recorded species. The speaker has studied the taxonomy of the Japanese scale insects across several taxonomic groups. In this presentation, I will discuss the taxonomy of Crisicoccus of the family Pseudococcidae (mealybugs) from Japan and the taxonomy of mealybugs infesting dwarf bamboo. The role of Dr. Shozo Kawai's specimens in this two projects will also be discussed.
