Symposium

[S45] 17th Frontier pharmaceutics to be explored by young scientists ~Strategy of novel formulation development using soft materials~

Mon. Mar 28, 2022 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM [Room R] Shirotori Hall (South) (Bldg. 4: 1F)

Organizer: Kazunori Kadota (Fac. Pharm., Osaka Med. Pharm. Univ.), Hidemasa Katsumi (Kyoto Pharmaceutical University)

Recently, the drug discovery of antibody drugs, nucleic acid drugs, and cell drugs has emerged, and the pharmaceutical modalities are diversifying. In addition to conventional formulation, it is important to design formulations from a new perspective. In particular, soft materials such as emulsions, polymer gels, and biomolecules are of quite importance in the design of pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations. Thus, soft materials are called as soft matter, and understanding their physicochemical properties and cell-biological interactions such as bio-membranes is essential for formulation design. In the first half of this symposium, actual examples of formulation design using soft materials will be presented. As examples, the development of DDS formulations using new materials with supramolecular dynamic properties, solid-in-oil technology in which the solid surface of the protein is coated with a surfactant and dispersed in oil, and transdermal formulations using a co-amorphous state are presented. In the latter half of this symposium, drug design using molecular simulation, which has recently become more accessible for drug design due to improvements in computers, and the permeation mechanism of nanoparticles into cell membranes are presented. In this symposium, we would like to introduce the latest data on the development of new formulations using soft materials from various viewpoints, and discuss the formulation design using soft materials and its prospects with the audience.

オーガナイザー挨拶:門田 和紀(大阪医薬大薬) (9:30 AM - 9:35 AM)
