[S01] Young Challengers in Synthetic Organic Chemistry: Exploration on the Frontiers with Ambitions
Sun. Mar 26, 2023 10:10 AM - 12:10 PM [Room A] Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education: Main Hall (Bldg. N: 1F)

This symposium "Young Challengers in Synthetic Organic Chemistry" aims to further the progress of synthetic organic chemistry, and to provide an opportunity for forging links between researchers with different research backgrounds. It has been held since the 121st Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
Synthetic organic chemistry is an academic field that can create innovative molecules for a basis of understanding biological phenomena and the development of new medicinal molecules. Therefore, there has been great effort by researchers of pharmaceutical sciences. However, there are still many research issues that need to be explored. These include the synthesis of large complex molecules, the discovery of reactions that are difficult to be understood and controlled, the application of synthetic chemistry in living organisms, the use of environmentally friendly energy sources for carbon neutrality, and breaking away from the wasteful consumption of organic solvents. This year, we will invite five up-and-coming young researchers who are ambitiously tackling such difficult research issues. Through sharing their latest results and their research philosophies, we hope participants will acquire a driving force and inspiration toward achieving important breakthroughs.
