Recently, there is an increasing concern about plastic products on ecosystem and human health. Especially, the impact of microplastics and nanoplastic that are particles less than 5 mm and 1 µm in size, respectively, has raised concerns. Microplastics have been detected in salt, drinking water, human blood and human placenta, and they might accumulate in the human body. Although, humans have an opportunity to expose to microplastic particles, microplastics on human health is largely unknown (e.g. size, materials, shape, and surface modification). Here, we would like to introduce the research topic regarding microplastic and nanoplastic on human health and discuss the hazard analysis of them.
